Context
This page presents the results of the investigation conducted during the Cobra Bastion Contest, focusing on aspects of the Cobra Bastion.
With community support during the Test Server for the Update de Verão 2025, a total of 117 The Cobra Amulet
were collected across the three test servers: Testa
, Testera
, and Testebra
. Of these, 73 were handed in on Testebra
.
| We thank everyone who contributed! The full list is available at Concurso/voting. |
Objective
General Objective
Investigate whether the massive use of The Cobra Amulet in the Ankrahmun tomb (here
) triggers visual or functional changes in Cobra Bastion, such as map alterations, area unlocks, or respawn behavior modifications.
Specific Objectives
- Verify if any additional content is unlocked (such as new areas, interactions, or enemies).
- Check if using the amulets grants any achievement.
- Check if using the amulets grants any title to the character.
- Test the combination of the amulet with various Bastion mechanics (Scarlet, tendril wall, treasure room, etc).
Executive Summary
![]() |
If you want a direct answer: no, so far no visual or structural change has been observed in Cobra Bastion, even after the massive delivery of The Cobra Amulets.
|
| Below is our strategy, considerations about the Test Server environment, and checks conducted to answer this question. This study also serves as a reference for future investigations involving Cobra Bastion and the use of test servers. |
Server Characteristics
The investigation was primarily conducted on Testebra
, during the Test Server for the Summer Update 2025. The servers Testa
and Testera
were also used as comparative references to validate behaviors and possible changes.
Server Reset
Although the test server site lists Testebra
as "Creation Date: January 2013," we confirmed the server was freshly reset.
In Venore, the presence of Filigree Statue
supports this, as these only appear on new servers.
Server Save and Temporal Progression
We validated that server save and day progression function normally, though occurring one hour later than usual (06:00 AM GMT-3).
| Although the server save occurs at 06:00 AM GMT-3, the authentication service restarts at 05:00 AM GMT-3. If you try to switch characters during this time, you will need to re-enter your email, password, and authenticator. |
We confirmed day progression using the mini world change Awash World Change. On day 1, it was closed. After interacting with the coals and the next server save, the area opened.
We also observed the progression of daily bosses in the Dream Courts.
Cobra Bastion: Initial Stage
On new servers, access to Cobra Bastion is blocked by a Tendril Wall
. To pass through it, you must obtain a Flask of Lump Oil
here
and use it on the wall. This triggers a burn, spawns 9 Cobra Assassins, and the wall disappears after 3 minutes.
The wall reappears 23 minutes after burning. The flask chest cooldown is 15 minutes. If you attempt to burn again while it is already burning, the message is: No need to make the flames go higher. Do you want to clear the entrance of this bastion or burn the whole thing down?
Methodology
Over four consecutive days, we delivered The Cobra Amulet on different servers and monitored visual and structural effects on Cobra Bastion. Below is a breakdown of the methodology and deliveries per server.
Day 1 (Friday)
Initial Bastion status check:
Day 2 (Saturday)
Tendril Wall check on all servers + map change observation on Testebra:
Day 3 (Sunday)
Check for visual or persistent changes:
Day 4 (Monday)

Results
At the end of the testing, the following consolidated results were observed:
- No changes were observed in Cobra Bastion after the massive delivery of The Cobra Amulet
. - Up to 75 deliveries, no achievements or titles were granted.
- The exact mechanic for removing the Tendril Wall remains unclear. During testing, Testera
had the tendril removed without our intervention. This suggests some specific action occurred, unrecorded or unreplicated. We tested several scenarios on Testebra
without success, including:
- 1 amulet + tendril burn with Flask of Lump Oil
- Tendril burn + use of Cobra pot
- Tendril burn + Cobra pot + delivery during/after burn
- Delivery with tendril still active
- Tendril burn + defeat of Scarlett Etzel
- Tendril burn + coin delivery in treasure room
- Combinations of the above
- Despite being a new server, it is uncertain if the Test Server is still ideal for investigations. Some world changes may be disabled.
- Delivery strategy was based on trying 50 amulets first, then testing lower amounts: 25, 15 — as previous attempts used only 13.

Conclusion
The study found no evidence that using The Cobra Amulet affects Cobra Bastion visually or mechanically up to the tested volume (75 deliveries on a single server). No achievements or titles were granted, and no structural or cosmetic changes were observed.
The absence of perceptible effects does not entirely rule out the possibility of hidden mechanics. It is possible that activation depends on unknown factors, such as significantly higher quantities, parallel actions, or specific prerequisites.
We recommend future investigations explore:
- Higher volumes of amulet deliveries per server;
- Simultaneous interactions across multiple Bastion areas;
- Testing in regular servers outside the controlled Test Server environment.
